Study #7: GIMEL
In addition to yesterday’s teaching, let us study the prophetic blessing of Rebekah – spoken by her family members over her – as she prepares to leave her home to marry Isaac.
The Blessing of Rebekah is found in Genesis 24: 60 –
” May you, our sister, become thousands of ten thousands, and may your descendants possess the gates of those who hate them”.
Unknown to them, this blessing is identical to the one God gave to Abraham after he offered Isaac in Genesis 22:16-17.
” By Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies”.
Father God, the coincidence is not an accident but Your endorsement of the union between Isaac and Rebekah. The prophecy is important to us as the Church has always taken a defensive stand when our Lord
declared to His disciples: ” The gates of Hell shall not prevail against it i.e. the church ” ( Matthew 16:18 ). For the Blessing of Rebekah is part of the Abrahamic Covenant that is yet to be fulfilled. May we take up the stance as God’s Endtime Church to prophetically proclaim that the we shall possess the gates of our enemies in Your perfect timing.
