Study #21: AYIN
AYIN: THE 16TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET
THE AYIN WORD: ETS (TREE) PART 1
The Hebrew concept of a Tree is not the image of a stationary plant but is viewed as a totality – from its roots to its many branches and leaves.
Its beauty is not found in its outward form
but in its usefulness like the multi-tasking Olive Tree.
The spelling of a Tree in Hebrew lends a deeper pictorial meaning:
- AYIN = See
- TSADE = The Righteous One.
Thus, it is a symbol of a Righteous Man – for its upright trunk is like a spine that determines his standing worth e.g. a Tree of Righteousness.
Moreover, Man possesses all the four major components of the Tree: roots, trunk, branches, fruit.
- His ancestors are the roots.
- The trunk corresponds to the full body of Man.
- The branches are his progeny.
- The fruit are his good deeds.
Abba Father, indeed Your Word in Psalm 34: 15-17 informs that You SEE THE RIGHTEOUS MAN and will always answer his desperate prayers for help and deliverance.
Psalm 34:15-17 (NKJV)
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
