STUDY 19 – KAF

THE KAF WORD FOR ATONEMENT ( KIPPUR ): PART 3

Yesterday we found the Gematria of the 3 letters that spell KIPPUR:

Kaf = 20
Pey = 80
Resh/ Reysh = 200

The Jewish commentators will add the numbers up to 300 – the number for the letter Shin ( God the Almighty Destroyer ).

300 is such a significant number even in the New Testament.

In Mark 14:6-9, we read that Mary of Bethany was criticized for wasting 300 denari on anointing Jesus. But what did He say in her defence?

” She has come aforehand to anoint My body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her”.

The number 300 is thus not only associated with the death and burial but also the good news that Christ is risen!

Heavenly Father, Yeshua discloses that Mary’s prophetic gesture, including the number 300, is going to be published as part of the gospel. And Yeshua rebuked her critics with the full authority of Shin ( 300) as the Almighty King who silences all enemies who come against her. The number 300 is how the world would value her sacrificial giving in mere currency but for us it is of greater spiritual value – a certain hope that we will overcome the final enemy of death – all because of the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua our Mashiach ( Messiah ).
