STUDY 6 – NUN

Study #6: NUN

NUN: THE 14TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET

MEM (Water) and NUN (Fish) are linked together just as fish cannot live out of water.

These two letters are found in the one word MANNA (in English) and MN (in Hebrew).

MEM is the fall of MANNA like heavenly dew. NUN is the life freely given in this heavenly food as an act of grace.

In the Old Testament, God unfailingly provided MANNA for 40 years when the children of Israel were lost in the Wilderness.

In the New Testament, God provided Jesus as our Bread of Life to guide us through our earthly life (John 6:35).

But more than that, we are exhorted to repent so as to partake of the Hidden Manna in

Revelation 2:16-17 (KJV)

  1. Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
  2. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

What is this HIDDEN MANNA but the LIVING WORD which is Christ Himself?

Abba Father, You said that man does not live by bread alone but out of every word that proceeds from Your mouth. Indeed Your Living Word and the Bread of Life add up to Jesus our Lord and Saviour who is the “hidden manna” of the Word.

Deuteronomy 8:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

  1. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
