CHET IN THE WORD SHACHAH ( WORSHIP )

Worship in the Old Testament is signified by the body language of total prostration ( “to fall on one’s face “) as an act of total surrender.

4. A good example of the blessings that follow true worship is found in Genesis 18: 2, 10. After Abraham bowed ( SHACHAH ) before the three angelic visitors to whom he showed his best hospitality, he received a prophecy that his wife Sarah who was barren would bear a son. This miracle happened a year later when Isaac was born – Sarah was then 90 and Abraham 100.

Father God, CHET is such a powerful modifier of SHACHAH for it tells us You want to have a personal relationship with us to ” fence us in ” Your love and protection. But only true worshippers will be rewarded with such a blessing. May we enter into Your Gracious Presence with the proper fear of You as true worshippers in spirit and in truth.
