Study #2: VAV

No study of VAV is complete without identifying it as the pictogram of the iron nail that kept Jesus on the Cross of Shame and Suffering.

1. VAV IN GOD’S NAME

The clearest evidence of this is found in God’s Most Holy Name of YHVH ( Behold The Hand Behold The NAIL) i.e. nail-scarred hands of Jesus. The hand is the symbol of God’s strength which Jesus exchanged for our weakness on the Cross.

2. THE VAV IN THE BLOOD COVENANT

The VAV drew the Blood of Christ and hence it became a symbol of our covenantal relationship with God for the death of Jesus gave us the gift of eternal life in Him.

Father God, the significance of VAV as a symbol of our restored relationship cannot be overlooked. Like a nail it secured our eternal attachment to You but it had to draw blood first to mark this covenant of grace – the Precious Blood of the Lamb of God which “cleanses us of all unrighteousness”
(1John 1:9 ). Indeed the Blood of Jesus – which VAV drew – sealed our relationship with You forever as an unbreakable covenant of Your redemptive love.
