Study #37: LAMED
LAMED: THE GOAD OF DISCIPLESHIP: ( PART 7 )
THE 5 BLESSINGS OF ONE NEW MAN IN CHRIST ( PART 2 )
- NEW STANDING WITH GOD.
Romans 5:1 states we have been justified in Christ.
This brings us into right relationship with God the Father.
For indeed He has reconciled His rebellious creatures with Him ( Romans 5 :10).
How?
By charging our sin to Christ’s account and crediting His righteousness into our spiritual account (Romans 5:12-19).
Heavenly Father, three key terms about our salvation are spelt out in Romans 5 – justification (5:1), reconciliation ( 5:10) and imputation (5:12-19). Just as we all inherited sin from the actions of Adam, we have been justified before You through the acts of the Last Adam ( Jesus ). And as a result of our new standing with You, we enjoy the 3 aforesaid blessings and more:
- Peace with You ( 5:1 )
- Hope that does not disappoint through the Holy Spirit ( 5:5 )
- Life instead of death through Christ as our Last Adam ( 5:17)
Romans 5:1-4
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, 1 We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into the grace in which we stand in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
