Study #6: GIMEL
Before going further on the total numerical value of GIMEL as a word, let us see the beautiful outworkings of the first 3 letters of the ALEF-BET in Genesis 24.
Abraham as ALEF ( the first ) desires a bride for his only son Isaac who’s BETH ( the heir of Abraham’s house ). So Abraham sends his oldest and most trusted Steward who is GIMEL ( the burden bearer ) to go back to his hometown in the north to look for a bride for his son.
The numerical 3 of GIMEL is clearly seen in the trio of characters of this prophetic drama: Abraham, Isaac and the Unnamed Steward. In prophetic type, we see the outworkings of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in transforming the Endtime Bride of Christ which is us ( the Body of Christ ).
The choice of ten CAMELS as the means of transport is not accidental for they personify GIMEL as a beast of burden.
Rebekah at the community well gives water to the Steward and then waters the ten camels which is no mean feat as camels are known to be great drinkers! She is then rewarded with a nose-ring ( submission ) and two giant bracelets of ten shekels ( costly gifts ) – one shekel each for ten camels!
Rebekah is given her family blessings by her protective brother Laban and then taken to Isaac who sees her from afar and goes to greet her as she descends from her camel and veils herself. They then enter into Sarah’s tent to start a family.
Father God, the first 3 letters of the Hebrew Alef-Bet has so much more to teach us than the English A, B and C. In these prophetic letters we discover the blueprint for our destiny as the Bride of Christ. In this prophetic picture, the means of how the Holy Spirit as GIMEL will carry us to our ultimate destination in Christ is clearly etched out. For the Book of Revelation will close human history with the one word MARANATHA as the Spirit and the fully adorned and transformed Bride say ” Come”.
The prophecy of Revelation 22:17 ( NKJV ) reads:
” And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come”. And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely”.
