Study #11: HEI
HEI has the pictorial of a man with both arms raised to signify “Behold”.
In effect he is pointing at a wonderful sight and saying: “Look!”
What is that wonderful sight?
The Hebrew spelling of HEI is Hei and Aleph
הֵא
which has HEI pointing to the invisible ALEPH ( The Strong Leader = God ).
This is why HEI is the written word for HASHEM ( The Name ) – a way for the Jews to refer to His Holy Name without having to make a vain attempt to pronounce it.
Father God, it is of no wonder Your most Holy Name of YHVH has a double HEI in it. For we are to behold Someone Wonderful – beyond the finite capacity of our words to describe. All we can do in Your Presence is to adopt the stance of HEI – with both hands raised in complete surrender to the wonder of Your infinite grace and mercy.
