THE MARK OF THE BEAST

In context, the Book of Revelation was written at a time when Roman Emperors demanded idolatrous worship.

Just as animals and slaves were branded with their owner’s name or mark, the false prophet will use this mark to direct the worship of multitudes to the Antichrist.

How will he implement this mark? He will use it as a diabolical trading licence marked on the forhead or right hand indicating that the branded person is the active slave of the beast.

Those who raise their hands like a Roman salute to the image of the beast are beast-worshippers and therefore qualified to buy and sell.

Faithful believers however will refuse to wear such a mark. In those days, Psalm 23 will be a precious reminder that despite imminent starvation, the Lord will prepare a table for His loyal servants in the presence of their enemies.

Father God we do not know exactly what this mark is though it points to the microchip. What we have is Your Word that though we pass through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil. For the Good Shepherd will preserve His own from the cruel deception of the “idol shepherd” ( Zechariah 11:17).
