Study #5: CHET
*CHET IN THE WORD SHACH ( HUMILITY )*
Our word study today is SHACH ( HUMILITY ) with CHET as its modifier.
SHACH is spelt in two pictorial letters
שַׁח
1. SHEM = The Destroyer
2. CHET = Fence, Wall, One’s Defences.
It means the posture of absolute humility towards a conqueror who has “demolished the city walls”.
This ” face down on the ground” humility is called total prostration in surrender towards the victor.
Do we have this attitude towards our Messiah who “has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility” between Jews and Gentiles? ( Ephesians 2:14 NIV ).
Father God, the hardest lesson is not in understanding the pictorial meaning of SHACH but in obeying the powerful truth it represents. It means humbling ourselves before God and men as when we bring down the wall ( CHET ) of our own self-righteousness and move in the humble spirit of forgiveness towards those who offended us.
