Study #10: CHET
CHET( FENCE) IN THE WORD CHATAN ( BRIDEGROOM )
From our previous lessons, we learnt that pictorials of Hebrew letters have a negative and positive meaning.
A fence or wall can surround us and trap us in like CHATA ( SIN ) does.
Or we could be a fence to protect others.
This is a matter of choice.
Choosing to become a protector will significantly change our life and relationships.
CHATAN is spelt with 3 Hebrew letters: CH a T a N.
CH ( CHET) + N ( NUN ) = Grace
T(TAV) in the middle between CHET and NUN = Seal of Grace.
CHATAN is thus the groom who seals the grace given to him in a marriage. The marriage is thus sanctified by God and the Bridegroom’s duty is to make it last as a marriage covenant.
In the Song of Songs, the Bridegroom is called a CHATAN. As the prospective protector of his marital home and family to come, he is the CHET (Fence) of his family. Psalm 19:5 asks: “Who is like a bridegroom ( CHATAN ) coming out of his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run its race?”.
Father G_D, You are the ultimate role model of the Fence ( CHET ) to protect our homes and family. And the honour of emulating You is given over to the CHATAN ( Bridegroom ). Just as the CHATAN protects his family in the natural, You have given us our CHATAN in Christ as the Bridegroom of our souls in the spiritual. May we arise as the Endtime Bride of Christ to honour Him as our CHATAN and
submit to Him in loving obedience as He leads us from here to eternity.
