Study #6: YOD
Part 2: YOD = 20
YOD is spelt with 3 consonants – YOD (10), VAV (6) and DALET (4). Add them together and you get another value for YOD – this time as 20 instead of 10.
20 is a double 10. What does it mean?
Twenty (20), which is one more than nineteen, is twice ten and can, at times, mean a complete or perfect waiting period.
3 examples can be cited:
1. God promised Abraham that if he found only 20 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah he would not destroy both cities (Genesis 18:31).
2. Samson was Judge over Israel twenty years (Judges 15:20, 16:31).
3. The book of Hebrews uses over 20 different names and titles for Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, YOD holds another meaning as 20 – as the time period for the fulfilment of a vision. Let us hold fast to Your vision for our lives and to wait – in hope and prayerful expectancy – for its fulfilment in Your perfect timing.
