Part 4: YOD and God’s Divine Name

Today we will find an interesting revelation missed out in English translations of the Bible.

When Jesus hung on the Cross, what was written as a sign above His head was “YESHUA OF NAZARETH, KING OF THE JEWS” ( Matthew 27:37; Mark 15:26 ).

This was written in four Hebrew letters – “Yeshua Hanetzeret V’melech Hayehudim”.

Immediately those versed in Hebrew, especially the Jewish religious leaders of the time, saw the Name of YHVH in the first letters of the four words – and openly mocked Him ( Mark 15: 31-32 ).

Heavenly Father, it was in fulfilment of what Jesus had prophesied – that they would see who He was when He the Son of Man was lifted up ( John 8:28 ). May we never take Your Name above all names in vain.
