Study #26: KAF
KAF AS THE ANOINTING BY THE LAYING ON OF HANDS
KAF is the pictorial of a pair of anointing hands as when Moses laid his hands upon Aaron’s head on God’s behalf to anoint him to the office of the High Priest before the whole congregation of Israel.
This is affirmed by the gematria value of KAF as 20 – the number for the anointing by the laying on of hands.
And the root word KAFAH teaches us that the posture to receive an anointing from God is “on bended knees” as it were – the submission of our body, soul and spirit to the release of His potential, power, providence and protection over our lives in His service as the priesthood of believers.
Heavenly Father, what today’s devotion means in practice is to submit ourselves to the covering palms of Your Hand. If we do so daily on a 24 hour basis, we will understand what sanctification really means – to be holy as You are holy – and to reach the fullness of our potential in Christ. Help us to be always humble on bended knees to receive the gift of Your anointing to serve You throughout our lifetime. Empower us to suppress our flesh life so that we will deny ourselves, take up our daily Cross and follow Christ as His true disciples.
