Study #28: LAMED
LAMED: THE GOAD OF DISCIPLESHIP ( PART 7 )
THE BEGINNING OF A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD ( PART 1)
Many students are confused about the GOSPEL. They think it is the Sinner’s Prayer or the four gospels in the New Testament.
But the GOSPEL is much more than that. It is all about the relationship we have with the Person of Christ, His life and ministry.
For the GOSPEL is the “good news” that we can be brought into a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Thus the GOSPEL is about sharing the Person of Christ. Through Christ’s GOSPEL, we can actually know God!
The relational aspect of the GOSPEL cannot be overlooked. The acrostic found in the word GOSPEL spells out the relationship we can have with God when we come to genuine faith in Christ. Thus the GOSPEL is about:
- God.
- Ourselves ( our relationship with God.
- A Saviour ( through Christ ).
- Powerful.
- Embraced as a lifestyle ( a must!)
- Life-altering.
Heavenly Father, coming to faith in You involves repentance – a change of mind that results in a life change. It involves changing our mindsets about You, about our own condition, about what it takes to come into a right relationship with You. Just as Jesus said when He began His public ministry: ” Repent and believe the good news” ( Mark 1:15 ).
