- NEW NATURE
So far we learnt we have a new life, a new standing with God, a new identity.
Today we focus on our new nature.
The great Protestant reformer Martin Luther once said: ” The moment I consider Christ and myself as two, I am gone”. Our union with Christ makes us one like Him.
Paul put it this way: ” For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:3-4 ).
In other words, when others see us, they should perceive Christ in us.
Father God, our new nature is Christ-like. As Paul sums it up so well:
” I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20 ).
