There is so much misunderstanding regarding the power of the Holy Spirit.
When Paul talks of the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit, we must realise that all Hell resisted this power on the day Jesus was raised from the dead but no demonic entity could withstand, challenge or resist it.
Just read the words of Paul in Ephesians 1:19-20
” I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great His power is to help those who believe Him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven”.
Paul uses the Greek word for power, dunamis, which is the root of our word dynamite. So Paul is saying, “God wants to give you dynamite power that can change your life.” Yes, the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead two thousand years ago is available to us right now to transform the weaknesses in our lives into strengths.
Heavenly Father, so many fail in practising the Doctrine of Sanctification when they rely on their own strength e.g. “mind over matter” to overcome their problems, weaknesses, continual sins and patterns of bad habits. But when we realise that the surpassing power of the Holy Spirit is available in us to overcome all our problems, we are enabled and empowered to transcend our flesh life into the glorious life and liberty of the Holy Spirit.
N.B. Tomorrow we shall focus on the work of the Holy Spirit in us.
