Study #3: SAMECH

SAMECH: THE 15TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET

SAMECH teaches us that we are in Christ and He is in us.

This is borne out by its Gematria number of 60.

In the Song of Songs, the number 60 is mentioned twice:

1. Song 3:7-8

7. Look! It is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty warriors, the noblest of Israel, all of them wearing the sword,

8. all experienced in battle, each with his sword at his side, prepared for the terrors of the night.

  2. Song 6:8

Sixty queens there may be, and eighty concubines, and virgins beyond number;

60 warriors protect the king, 60 queens keep him company. He is always protected and protective like the symbol of SAMECH.

Abba Father, this visual transcends the Old into the New Testament.

Indeed, Christ is our Shepherd King whose scepter and staff protect and guide us along the paths of righteousness after His Namesake (Psalm 23).
