SAMECH: THE 15TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET
JESUS AS SAMECH
It is so wonderful to realise Jesus is the Word of God through every letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.
Let us take SAMECH as an example found in the word SULAM (LADDER).
SULAM is spelt with three letters: SAMECH, LAMED and MEM.
It is the composite picture of accessing God’s presence and protection from heaven to earth through the portal of an open heaven:
- SAMECH = God’s presence and protection.
- LAMED = joining heaven
- MEM = to earth (sea of humanity)
Thus, we read of Jacob’s Ladder in
Genesis 28:12 “And he dreamed, and behold a ladder (Sulam) set up on the earth and its top reaching to the sky…”
In John 1:41-53, Jesus promised Nathanael he would see greater things! He would from that moment on see Jesus in full revelation as the stairway to heaven of Genesis 28:12.
Abba Father, Jesus declared to Nathaneal that He is that someone who stood in the gap between heaven and earth fulfilling the longing of Nathanael’s heart. The latter was probably praying under a fig tree for the revelation of the Messiah and here was his answered prayer – Jesus the Ladder of God.
John 1:51
He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending’ on the Son of Man.”
