Study #3: AYIN

Study #3: AYIN

AYIN: THE 16TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET

The Gematria (70) and Ordinal Number (16) of AYIN (Part 2)

AYIN is the 16th letter of the 22 consonants that make up the Hebrew Alphabet.

Its Ordinal placement as 16 has something to contribute – a number that denotes sharing in love.

Both the Gematria ( fullness of time ) and Ordinal ( giving in love ) meaning of AYIN can be illustrated by the Feast of Pentecost.

God’s perfect timing ( 7×10 ) is now seen in another form ( 12×10 or 120 years ) between the giving of the Law and the Advent of Holy Spirit.

The Ordinal Value of 15 denotes that the Holy Spirit came as the Spirit of God’s love into our hearts

The Law ( Torah or God’s Teaching) was given on Mt. Sinai fifty days after the children of Israel left Egypt. This was the first Feast of Pentecost.

Exactly 120 years later ( 12×10 ), the Holy Spirit was given on Mt.Zion – again on the Feast of Pentecost.

The former gave us life in God’s Word while the latter gifted us with the resurrection life of the Holy Spirit who was given in love ( Romans 5:5 ).

Romans 5:5

“and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

Indeed we need both the Spirit and the Word to equip and to empower us in our daily walk of Sanctification.

Abba Father, AYIN teaches us that in Your fullness of time ( in this case 12 ×10 or 120 years later ), You gave us first the Word and then the Holy Spirit. Unlike the children of Israel who stood afar off and only sent Moses up Mt. Sinai to receive Your Word, we are urged to boldly come closer to You in

Hebrews 4:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We pray that 2019 will be the year we draw closer to You in spirit and truth as Your true worshippers.
