Study #14: AYIN

Study #14: AYIN

AYIN: THE 16TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET

THE EYES OF GOD (PART 1)

There is an interesting scripture in 2 Chronicles 16:9 that describes the EYES (AYIN) OF GOD.

Let us read it together:

2 Chronicles 16:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

9 The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him…

In this scripture, God’s AYIN is a metaphor of His intimate knowledge of our lives. For His eyes are in every place, observing both good and evil (Proverbs 15:3). Specifically they are focused to defend the righteous and to sustain and deliver those who are hoping in His faithful mercy (CHESED).

But who are the righteous in this instance?

Someone like our Lord Jesus – be it a man or woman – who is totally committed to God’s plans and purposes for His life.

Abba Father, Your eyes (AYIN) are always upon us as Your children. But you are looking for faithfulness on our part. Where we fail You in this, may Your mercy be upon us to lead us back to Your paths of righteousness away from the snares of the evil one.
