Whisper
By Christine Ang
Like the desert, our souls are weary and dry
We are broken, angry and even question “why”
Answers seem to elude us, we are in despair
Oh God are you really there?
We are in a challenging season
Why it happened, there must be a reason
Good days, bad days – a roller coaster ride
We are tormented and we even cried.
We may seem alone on life’s rough road
But we know that God helps us carry the load
Though You may seem to be on silent mode
Undeniably You are our safe abode.
May Your angels around us encamp
Your Word is our guiding lamp
When trials come like sea billows roll
You are our Refuge, the Rock of our soul.
So let our faith arise as we anchor on You
For You will help us journey through
Amidst the deafening noise out there
Hear us God, as we whisper our prayer.
We are surrounded by disasters and events over which we have no control.
Desperate circumstances can consume us and cloud our judgement.
Our only hope is in Jesus, as He stated in Deuteronomy 31:8:
“The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you;
He will never leave you nor forsake you…”
