Study #10: KAF
THE KAF WORD FOR CROWN ( KETER )
PART 2: THE 5 CROWNS OF THE N.T.
In the N.T. there are at least 5 more crowns mentioned:
1. KETER HACHAYIM – Crown of Life ( James 1:12).
2. KETER HA TSEDAKAH – Crown of Righteousness ( 2 Tim.4:8 ).
3. KETER OLAM – An Incorruptible Crown ( 1 Cor.9:25 ).
4. KEYER HA TIFERET – The Crown of Glory ( 1 Peter 5:4 ).
5. KETER HAKOTZIM – Crown of Thorns ( Matt.27:29; Mark 15:17; John 19:5 ).
Heavenly Father, looking at all the Crowns in the O.T. and N.T. we realise that only the Lord Jesus is the one qualified candidate to wear them all. As our King of kings, He wears the Crown of the Kingdom; as our Great High Priest He wears the Crown of the Priesthood; as the Word of God He wears the Crown of Torah; as the Son of God Most High, He wears the Crown of the Good Name; as the Prince of Life, He wears the Crown of Life; as the Great High Priest after the Order of Melchizedek, He wears the Crown of Righteousness; as the Good Shepherd King, He wears the Incorruptible Crown; as the Lord of Glory, He wears the Crown of Glory. Indeed the list goes on and on – even as we crown Him with many crowns!
