Power given has to be harnessed by the meek who understand how to keep their strength under control.
A father does not give a newborn baby the keys to drive a racing car? Obviously the child has to mature first.
To be led by the Spirit is to be submitted to His leading, guidance and prompting. It requires a servant spirit like Christ’s to be a true disciple.
Let us learn the 6 transforming works of the Holy Spirit within us before we tap into His “dunamis” power:
- He enlightens our minds (Jeremiah 31:34; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10; Ephesians 1:17-18; 1 John 2:27 ).
- He purifies our emotions ( Romans 5:5; 8:15; 2 Corinthians 7:10-11 ).
- He empowers our will( Romans 8:13; 1 Corinthians 15:10; Galatians 5:16 ).
- He sensitizes ( makes sensitive ) our consciences ( 2 Corinthians 7:10-11; Hebrews 10:22; 1 Timothy 1:5 ).
- He satifies our longings ( Isaiah 55:1-2 ; John 4:13-14; 2 Corinthians 3:6 )
- He expresses our needs ( Romans 8:26 ).
Abba Father, we can no longer be the same person we used to be. Since the flesh life remains throughout our lives, we need to tap into the Dunamis Power of the Holy Spirit to overcome its hold over our daily lives. For the desire to do right is within us moreso as we yield to the transformational work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Thus we shall grow from strength to strength, from faith to faith, from glory to glory, from grace to grace. For we will never live as Jesus calls us to live until we see ourselves as Jesus sees us – as His One New Man in Him. Indeed IDENTITY DETERMINES ACTIVITY.
