Study #1: SAMECH

SAMECH: THE 15TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET

The pictorial shape of SAMECH is a circle – the archetypal symbol of being surrounded by God’s omnipresence.

Hence its meaning is “to be surrounded or protected”.

But who is our Protector?

In the Old Testament, we are told to trust in the Lord our God as our Protector ( Psalm 118:8 ).

In the New Testament, since we are IN CHRIST, Jesus becomes our Protector.

Abba Father, chapter 1 of the epistle to the Ephesians tells us we are IN CHRIST 10 times over. This means He is our SAMECH who surrounds us with His protection. May we realise this incredible revelation that we are truly redeemed, protected and loved IN CHRIST.

EPHESIANS 1:4

4… just as He chose us IN HIM before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
