THE KAF WORD FOR GLORY ( KAVOD ): PART 3

Thanks to the Hebraic understanding of KAVOD, the word for “Glory” in English acquires a much richer depth of meaning.

After Jesus ascended into heaven, something took place in the lives of His disciples that transformed them inside out as they prayed in one accord at the Upper Room.

On the Day of Pentecost, Acts 2:2-4 tells us: ” And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit”.

What really happened here? How does it compare with the KAVOD that filled Solomon’s Temple?

Paul had this stupendous revelation which he shared in 1Corinthians 6:19 – ” What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”.

Heavenly Father, by the presence of the Holy Spirit, Your KAVOD now dwells in the bodies of those who have put their faith and trust in Your Son – who opened ( or more accurately uncovered ) the Door to Eternal Life when He was nailed to the Cross. For this awesome revelation, we can but echo the words of exultation of the psalmist in Psalm 29:2 – ” Give unto the Lord the GLORY due to His Name”.
