Study #26: AYIN
AYIN: THE 16TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET
THE AYIN WORD: ETZ (TREE) PART 5
THE NEW JERUSALEM
I love Hong Kong with its mix of British Colonial and Ancient Chinese – a unique blend of the most modern and the most ancient.
But it is nothing compared to the New Jerusalem that God has created for the redeemed (Old and New Testament Saints).
In Revelation 21:2 John sees ” the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God”. He describes this unique and amazing city in greater detail in Rev. 21: 9-23.
- John says it is 12,000 stadia in length, width and height. 12, 000 stadia is about 1,400 miles. So this city is 1,400 miles wide, 1,400 miles long, and 1,400 miles high.
- Not counting the height of the city, the New Jerusalem is 1,960,000 square miles. Think about this…Hong Kong is only 426 square miles, New York City is 469 square miles.
- In this massive city are 3 gates on each side and an angel guarding each gate. If we need an elevator to go up, a mathematician calculated that it has to go all the way up to the top of the city bypassing 740,000 floors.
- What is amazing we will limitless time to meet and hang out with real people from every era of history!
- And then notice – there is no sun and moon. Heaven’s power comes directly from Jesus, and the glory of God is more than enough to light all of Heaven.
- In verse 22 we learn there is no Temple in the New Jerusalem for God the Father and Jesus are its Temple.
ABBA FATHER, there will be no need to go to a temple to encounter You. We will be in constant union and communion with You. Heaven on earth in the New Jerusalem will not be a boring place with so much to see, do, experience and enjoy!
