- THE GOSPEL IS POWERFUL
Let us recapt what we have studied so far:
- At the Cross we saw Jesus paying the terrible price of our sin with His life-blood – hence we saw both the justice of God and a stunning reminder of His love for us.
- In His resurrection from the dead, we saw the undeniable evidence of His authority and power over sin and death.
Paul wrote in
Romans 1:16 (KJV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The word “power” is translated as Dunamis in Greek and Dynamite in English.
How is the gospel like “spiritual dynamite”?
Heavenly Father, we realise that the Gospel is not just a mere message. It is the God-Man Jesus Himself who in His life, death and resurrection brought us the good news that we can be brought into a right relationship with You. As believers in Him, we too will experience the power of the Gospel in overcoming sin, death and satan himself. Indeed through Jesus, we can know You as You want to be known.
