MEM: THE 13TH LETTER OF THE HEBREW ALPHABET

JESUS: THE LIVING MEM ( WATER OF THE WORD )

MEM like a beautiful diamond has many facets to its meaning.

One such is its Water Metaphor which the Bible employs as a cleansing agent.

In the Old Testament, Water was used to sanctify the Aaronic priesthood. Moses was instructed in Exodus 40:12 to “bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water”.

But in the New Testament, Water is synonymous with the Word of God. Thus the Bride of Christ ( the Church ) is “…cleanse…with the washing of water by the Word” ( Ephesians 5:26 ).

We know too well that physical cleansing with water cannot cleanse a guilty conscience. Only Jesus, the living Word of God, cleanses us through His sacrifice on the Cross.

Abba Father, the revelation today is that MEM is embodied by Christ as our Living Word. And He has promised that ” I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost ” ( Revelation 21:6 ). Thus we are blessed to be a blessing – to share the Living Word of the gospel which we have freely received.
