Study #7: DALET
Yesterday if you paid close attention to Revelation 3:20, you would have noted that when Jesus stood at the door of the Laodicean Church, He did 2 things:
1. He knocked.
2. He shouted.
Knocking without calling would mean that the person seeking entrance is a stranger.
Jesus wanted someone inside to harken to His Voice as the Master and open the door to welcome Him in.
Let us read a similar scenario in John 10:1-18. There is a gatekeeper mentioned who lets the Good Shepherd in:
Verse 1. He who does not enter the sheepfold by the DOOR but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.
Verse 2. But he who enters by the DOOR is the shepherd of the sheep. To Him the gatekeeper opens”.
How can the gatekeeper know that it was Jesus from the mere knocking on the DOOR? He must have recognized his Master’s voice.
Father God, Jesus concludes His teaching by saying: ” The sheep hear His voice, and He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. When He has brought out all His own, He goes before them, and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice” ( John 10:3 ). May we always know our Master’s voice and do His bidding as gatekeepers of the DALET ( DOOR ) of our hearts.
