Study #9: VAV

Each of the 8 verses of Psalm 119:41-48 starts with the letter VAV.

As the ” NAIL that secures” what is God trying to teach us about VAV in these 8 verses?

Let’s read them first:

v.41 Your mercies come also to me, O Lord, Thy salvation according to Thy word;

v.42 So I shall have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in Your word.

v. 43 And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I have hoped in Your ordinances,

v.44 So I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever.

v. 45 And I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts,

v.46 I will also speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed

v. 47 And I will delight in Your commandments which I love

v. 48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes.

Father God, these 8 verses tell us that the security of Your Word and lovingkindness gives us the answer to the reproach of men. It also enables us to walk in liberty. These two reasons explain why we should delight and love Your commandments. The security of VAV is thus founded on trusting in Your Word of Truth.
